I'm sure there's a huge difference between....
"Gee honey! Lets go look for a new washer and dryer because we are flush with cash, and golly wouldn't it be nice to just have a new set!"
And....
"Oh crap! You're sure they can't be fixed? You've tried everything? There goes the tax return!"

Friday, the washer just decided to stop tumbling or spinning or what ever it does to get the clothes clean. And for the past month, the dryer has been leaving these mysterious brown spots all over my whites.
I'd like to go one month, without SOMETHING breaking down or needing to be replaced.

I highly recommend a front loader. With a pedestal...if you're planning on having this piece of machinery for a few years your back will thank for you for the pedestal.
We did go with the front loader-- on both this time. Paul had previously built a pedestal for both to sit on. Makes a world of difference!
